Description:

Blue Sapphire Shrimp are well-loved in the aquarium world, not just for their striking appearance but also for their ease of care and robustness. These peaceful, social shrimp thrive in well-planted aquariums with fine-feathered plants such as moss. They are omnivores and have a varied diet, enjoying plant-based foods like nettles, spinach, and specialized shrimp foods. For optimal health, it's recommended to provide them with a protein-rich food source twice a week, along with brown autumn leaves in the tank as a continuous food supply.

Ideal Tank Setup:

Blue Sapphire Shrimp are peaceful group animals and prefer to be kept in groups of 10 to 20. They can be kept with other peaceful species, including fish, freshwater crabs, snails, and other shrimp species, as long as the water conditions are compatible. When combined with other shrimp colors, be cautious as offspring from mixed-color tanks may lose their color consistency.

Breeding:

These shrimp are straightforward to breed. After carrying eggs for 3-4 weeks, females release 20-40 fully developed, blue-colored juveniles. These young shrimp are able to stay in the parent tank without risk, as the adults do not prey on them.
