Looking for Black Crystal shrimp? Crystal Black (CBS) is the black-and-white form of Caridina cantonensis, the same species as Crystal Red. Deep black bands on a clean white body — a soft-water shrimp for keepers who already manage their water values.

Care
Caridina cantonensis need soft, slightly acidic water: a low KH and stable, cool temperatures matter more than anything else. Most keepers use reverse-osmosis water remineralised with a shrimp-specific GH+ salt. Use an active soil substrate, keep the tank mature and well planted with mosses, acclimate very slowly and feed sparingly. Not suitable for untreated hard tap water — check your water with our free hardness tool first.
