Vesicularia montagnei 'Christmas Moss'

Christmas Moss (Vesicularia montagnei) — a classic aquarium moss for aquascaping and shrimp tanks. Its branches grow in a triangular, fir-tree pattern — dense, compact and ideal for moss walls, carpets and shrimp breeding tanks.

Christmas Moss or Java Moss?

Java Moss grows loose and untidy; Christmas Moss keeps a regular, layered shape with side shoots arranged like the branches of a fir tree. It grows a little slower, so a moss wall or moss tree stays neat for longer with less trimming. Its fine structure traps food particles and biofilm, which makes it one of the best mosses for raising shrimplets.

Care

Attach a thin layer to wood, stone or a mesh pad with thread or glue and it will anchor itself within a few weeks. Trim regularly to keep it dense; loose trimmings can be re-attached. Moss gives shrimp and their young the biofilm and cover they need, which is why it belongs in every shrimp tank.
